The silent language of the forest: a sensory experience from silence

At the’Academy of Fine Arts of Sabadell, we continue to focus on artistic proposals that connect with the public through sensitivity and reflection. As part of our cycle of’exhibitions in Sabadell, we present to you the mute language of the forest, an exhibition conceived as a space of deep listening and poetic suspicion, where silence and presence take shape through artistic gestures.

From April 24 to May 16, 2025, ours Eye of the Scale Room will host this exhibition with free admission, organized in collaboration with the’Association of Plastic and Visual Artists of Sabadell. The proposal brings together the works of Kati Riquelme i Julia R-Arias H, under the curatorship of Yun Vidal Coll, in an experience that transcends simple visual contemplation to open a space of suspense and introspection.

The silent language of the forest It is articulated as an intimate, almost ritualistic journey between rooms and silences, between discreet steps and materials that whisper hidden stories. The artists start from the idea that what is not seen, what remains on the margins of discourse, also has a voice and presence. Thus, the exhibition becomes an act of subtle resistance, a form of existence that does not seek to be justified or spectacular.

Here, contemplating is also a way of being: waiting, caring, feeling. Each work challenges the visitor from the infraordinary —the small gestures, the invisible details, the materials that are silent but persist. The installation opts for a slow tempo, for an experience of attention and listening where time does not accumulate, but rather fades away gently.

An invitation to presence and calm

With the mute language of the forest, we invite you to take a break, to delve into one of the exhibitions in Sabadell which best represents the capacity of art to suggest and not impose. We look forward to sharing this space where silence becomes language, and where the visitor's gaze completes the work.
