Exhibition "9 Wall Locks"«

This is an exhibition with photographs by nine authors, belonging to the Divergent group. Each one presents their own collection: so many heads, so many hats, totally independent in terms of thematics and photographic technique... and in this way each one has come to create their own "wall lock".

Our corpus is to observe, value and practice photography from all its aspects and our intention is to enjoy the photographic image, to have fun (divergent). We believe that beyond the current canons that traditional photographic entities and their juries show us, everyone can make their own creations with personal aesthetic models. In some cases, photography may be so close to painting that the image can make us think of a painting, in others it can become an abstraction, an unreal image or simply the testimony of a reality.

When editing and composing an image, group collaboration is very important. We show each other our works and everyone gives their opinion on how we can improve them, always accepting the aesthetic tastes of our colleagues and respecting what we intend with that image. In the same way that a painting can be hyper-realistic or simply based on a magnificent combination of color spots, photography can also follow different paths, the most important thing is the final result, the feeling that the image leaves in the observer who contemplates it.

The Divergent photography group was founded in 2017 by a group of photography enthusiasts from various fields and with a broad and plural vision of what the art of the image can be.

In the summer of 2022 we will form the photography section of the Academy of Fine Arts of Sabadell.
